BODY SHELTERS

Mella Jaarsma

BAIK + KHNEYSSER is pleased to present Body Shelters, a solo exhibition in Zurich, Switzerland, June 6 – 15, 2024.

Mella Jaarsma’s work explores questions related to identity and hybridity and how we translate and preserve cultural heritage. She often investigates the role of clothing in the expression of personal identity as well as its reflection of power, social status, belonging, and tradition. Her performance driven garments build on the artist’s continued practice of constructing tapestries made of cultural signifiers.

Elisabethenstrasse 22a, 8004 Zurich

Opening: June 5th 6 - 8PM

Exhibition: June 6th - 15th

Special performance of the work RAKUS : June 8th at 2PM
